Tough Spot
I know what it is to be a tough spot. Some tough spots are tougher than others. When I look back on some that I’ve been through it’s a very sobering look. When I look at other tough spots, they really weren’t so bad, but they sure felt bad at the time. The problem is that when I’m in a tough spot, I don’t have a “big picture perspective”. I’m only seeing my situation and it looks hopeless. I’m trying hard to gain God’s Perspective on my situation every day. I want His opinion on my circumstances because He’s the One with the most power to change the situation or circumstances.
Jeremiah laments of a time when He was in a very bad place and He cried out to God for rescue. Check this out…
17 I have no more peace. I have forgotten what happiness is. 18 I said, “My strength is gone, and I have no hope in the Lord.” 19 Lord, remember my suffering and my misery, my sorrow and trouble. 20 Please remember me and think about me. 21 But I have hope when I think of this: 22 The Lord’s love never ends; his mercies never stop. 23 They are new every morning; Lord, your loyalty is great. 24 I say to myself, “The Lord is mine, so I hope in him.” 25 The Lord is good to those who hope in him, to those who seek him. 26 It is good to wait quietly for the Lord to save. (Lamentations 3:17-26 NCV)This passage gives me much hope and inspiration. I can be in the toughest spot of my life and the Lord is present with me. He will journey with me through the toughest times. His love never fails and never gives up on me! He is worth putting my hope in. He never leaves me alone. He is always good. He is always faithful. He is always my Rock to hold on to.
I know that I will have more tough times ahead than are in my rear view mirror, BUT, I will put my hope and trust in the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, my Friend, my Savior, my Counselor. He is good and full of mercy always. It’s in His “DNA” – the fiber of His Character.
Pressing On! Dwayne
