Secrets
I have not always loved secrets. As a kid growing up I wasn’t super good at keeping a secret. I always felt the need to tell someone. On Seinfeld it’s referred to as “the vault”. My “vault” wasn’t so secure. As an adult, I’ve learned the importance of secrets and confidentiality. Secrets that get out can destroy lives or ruin healthy relationships. Sometimes secrets kept can destroy intimate relationships because the relationship between spouse’s cries out for real openness and honesty at all times. Jeremiah is speaking the promises of God that this punishment will not last forever. I love the way he speaks this. Check this out….
1While Jeremiah was still locked up in the courtyard of the guards, the Lord spoke his word to him a second time: 2“These are the words of the Lord, who made the earth, shaped it, and gave it order, whose name is the Lord: 3‘Judah, pray to me, and I will answer you. I will tell you important secrets you have never heard before.’ (Jeremiah 33:1-3 NCV)I want to know the deep secrets of God. He is the Wind Maker, Earth Shaper, Creator of all and He wants to know me. I want to know His will for my life. I want to know whatever He wants me to know about Him. I do believe that the Lord can be trusted without exception. His secrets are deep and wide. I want to hear Him whisper to my heart. I want my relationship with Him to grow deeper and more relevant every day that I live.
