Rejection & Wrath

God does have limits as to what He will take. His tolerance level is pretty big, but enough is enough.

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”

Destruction is eminent and the king of Judah, Zedekiah, sends a message to Jeremiah. “Ask the Lord to tell Nebuchadnezzar to stop attacking us”.  The Lord had had enough. His frustration and wrath was boiling over. He not only said “NO” to Zedekiah’s request, but He will deliver Judah into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar. There was only one way to live. Check this out….

8 “Also tell this to the people of Jerusalem: ‘This is what the Lord says: I will let you choose to live or die. 9 Anyone who stays in Jerusalem will die in war or from hunger or from a terrible disease. But anyone who goes out of Jerusalem and surrenders to the Babylonians who are attacking you will live. Anyone who leaves the city will save his life as if it were a prize won in war. 10 I have decided to make trouble for this city and not to help it, says the Lord. I will give it to the king of Babylon, and he will burn it with fire.’ (Jeremiah 21:8-10 NCV)

Honoring God must be a priority of mine. He will not tolerate my disobedience forever – He will punish.  God has made a way for me to walk with Him and trust Him with everything in my life. I can’t reject Him forever or He will reject me. He doesn’t force me to believe in Him or walk with Him. I’ve walked with Him for several years now and I’ve experienced the joy and peace of walking with Him. I can’t imagine life any other way. I can’t imagine God’s rejection and wrath. Because of Jesus, I’ve escaped both.
