God’s Goodness

I remember hearing a song called “God Is Good” sung by Don Moen. There were stories of hope and inspiration shared by many because the simple message in those three words inspired people to hang on when everything seemed hopeless. There were three other words that followed in that song as well. The three words were: “all the time”.  When you put them together they scream out that God is good – all the time.  The phrase became interchangeable too. I could say, “all the time, God is good” or “God is good all the time”!

This morning in Isaiah I found a small passage that blessed me and reminded me that goodness in a characteristic of God. Check this out…

 I will tell about the Lord’s kindness


    and praise him for everything he has done.


I will praise the Lord for the many good things he has given us


    and for his goodness to the people of Israel.


He has shown great mercy to us


    and has been very kind to us. (Isaiah 63:7 NCV)

 The goodness of God is not a secret. There are many stories I could tell personally about how He’s taken something bad and made good come out. He is consistent at that.

We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. They are the people he called, because that was his plan. (Romans 8:28 NCV)

 God’s goodness is consistent. He never quits being Who He Is! He never takes a break or has a lapse in judgment – He is good all the time. I am a beneficiary of His Goodness and His Grace! I am a recipient of His Grace and His Salvation. I simply can’t describe properly my God and just how good He is!
