The List
I am a list maker. I like going to the grocery story with a list. I like making a “to do list” to map out my day or to complete a project. I sometimes make a list when trying to make a big decision – a list of the pros & cons. I’ve probably been on some peoples “bad list” and hopefully on others “good list”. The choices I make today can determine where I’m at on other people’s list.
The Proverb write gives a list of things the Lord hates. I want to pay close attention to this list. Check this out….
16 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community. (Proverbs 6:16-19 NIV)
I want to steer clear of being on this list. I want to avoid it like the plague. This list screams out a hard heart – a diseased heart. I want to cultivate a heart that is chasing after the Lord. I want my heart to be shaped by Him. I want my heart to be made soft by Him. I want my heart to beat in tandem with His Heart.
I want to have kind and gentle eyes.
I want to speak with honesty and integrity at all times.
I want to be a champion for life.
I want to a pure heart with honest motives at all times.
I want to walk in step with His Spirit.
I want to speak the truth in love at all times.
I want to be a peacemaker in my community.
I want the activity of my life to show honor and respect to The One Who gave me life and allow Him to direct my life!
