Some People

There are “some people” who drive me crazy!  They simply do things that irritate me in a big way. I realize that this is a general statement and that lots of people may fit into the category, “some people”.  In fact, I probably fit in that category for other people.  There are some people that I trust and respect deeply. There are some people that I can go to about any thing and they will try to help.  The proverb writer speaks of “some people”. Check this out….

 11 “Some people curse their fathers


       and do not bless their mothers. 
 

12 Some people think they are pure,


       but they are not really free from evil.
 

13 Some people have such a proud look!

 
       They look down on others.

14 Some people have teeth like swords;

 
       their jaws seem full of knives.

 I am “some people” to others who may not know me.  I have to be careful that I don’t become the “some people” that the writer is speaking of.  I was convicted in verse 12, because I do think of myself sometimes as pure.  If I’m pure, it’s only because the grace of God made me pure. On my own, I’m not pure.  I don’t ever want to have a “proud look” (aka… arrogance) or “teeth like swords” (aka… hateful words). I want to be a blessing to others. I want others to see God in how I live my life.  I want others to know that while I’m human, I choose to follow the Lord and honor Him. His grace is enough to cover the imperfections and mistakes (aka… the sin in me) that I make.  I am a child of the King and that makes me someone special!
