No Comps

House and money on scalesOne of the challenging things in Real Estate world is that the true value of a property is not what someone is willing to pay for it. The value of a home is based on the comparable homes that sold in the area. It becomes frustrating when selling homes in a rural area and the closest comparable might be 6 miles away. The banks don’t like that at all. They like the radius distance to be 1 mile – maybe 2. Another way to determine value is what it would cost to replace the home. This valuation model always is pretty strong because it flexes with the lumber and material markets.

As I was reading the last chapter of Micah this morning it became clear that there is really nothing or no one that compares to the Lord. Check this out…

18 There is no God like you.

    You forgive those who are guilty of sin;

you don’t look at the sins of your people

    who are left alive.

You will not stay angry forever,

    because you enjoy being kind.
19 You will have mercy on us again;

    you will conquer our sins.

You will throw away all our sins

    into the deepest part of the sea. (Micah 7:18-19 NCV)

There is no one who can replace the Lord. The thing He brings is more valuable than anything on this planet.  He saves my soul from destruction and death. He is kind and full of mercy. He helps me to be strong in the face of temptation. He simply doesn’t compare to anyone or anything. He can’t be replaced by anyone or anything. His value can’t be determined. Nothing or no one compares to Him!

Pressing On!
Dwayne
