Love Wins!

I have sticker that says, “Love Wins” on the back of my vehicle. A lot of people from our church have that sticker on their vehicles. I was reminded of the forever love of God this morning as I was reading Psalm 118. It was like King David was so grateful for the victories in life and in battle because of the love of God.

As part of my daily journey, I’ve been reading in the New Testament in the book of 1 Corinthians. Today my scheduled reading was chapter 13 – the Love chapter. When I put these two readings together, I was reminded of the eternal love of God. Check this out….

5 I was in trouble, so I called to the Lord.
The Lord answered me and set me free.
6 I will not be afraid, because the Lord is with me.
People can’t do anything to me.
7 The Lord is with me to help me,
so I will see my enemies defeated.
8 It is better to trust the Lord
       than to trust people.
9 It is better to trust the Lord
       than to trust princes.
22 The stone that the builders rejected
       became the cornerstone.
 23 The Lord did this,
and it is wonderful to us.
24 This is the day that the Lord has made.
Let us rejoice and be glad today!
 28 You are my God, and I will thank you;
you are my God, and I will praise your greatness.
29 Thank the Lord because he is good.
His love continues forever. (Psalm 118:5-9;22-24;28-29 NCV)

God’s love is forever. It will outlast anyone or any thing on this planet. Love is His very nature and at the core of His existence. Because of His love He created in the first place. His love is bigger than my mind can comprehend. I can’t begin to even describe the love of God, because my computer would blow up! I’d would be here until the Lord came back to take us home if I started back at the beginning of time. His love is unfathomable. When I think I’m beginning to understand the heart of God and His deep love for me, He takes it to a whole different level.

I’m so grateful that I don’t have to fully understand the love of God to be a recipient of that amazing love. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son….” (John 3:16)  So these three things continue forever: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13 NCV)

Pressing On!
