Control

There are times when I think I’m really in charge. I decide that my family and I are going here or there and so the plans are made and off we go. I plan my day with appointments on the schedule and off I go. What if the car doesn’t start? What if one of my kids are sick and need to leave school and go home?  I’m really NOT in control of my calendar. I have limited control, but the Lord has ULTIMATE Control.

I’ve enjoyed reading Ezekiel and how this guy jumps when God says jump. He speaks when God says speak. He recognized the Power and the Presence of God in his life. Check this out….

22 Then I felt the power of the Lord there. He said to me, “Get up and go out to the plain. There I will speak to you.” 23 So I got up and went out to the plain. I saw the glory of the Lord standing there, like the glory I saw by the Kebar River, and I bowed facedown on the ground.
24 Then the Spirit entered me and made me stand on my feet. He spoke to me and said, “Go, shut yourself up in your house.
27 But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth, and you will say to them, ‘The Lord God says this.’ Those who will listen, let them listen. Those who refuse, let them refuse, because they are a people who turn against me. (Ezekiel 3:22-24,27 NCV)

I don’t have the power to stop sickness or cancer. I can’t stop car accidents. I can’t control others who have an emergency and need my help. I can’t control my car starting every time. I can’t control keeping all the nails off the road so that I won’t get a flat tire.  When it really shakes out, I have very little control.  All I really need to be concerned with is the things I can control. I actually even want the Lords help on all of that too. I want my life to be under His command and control. When He is in charge, I won’t be surprised where my day leads, I’ll just go with it! I want to be His spokes person, His mouthpiece. I want to be a Husband, Dad, REALTOR who surrenders my life and schedule to the Lord.

Lord, Let’s do this!

Pressing On!
Dwayne
