Mediation

There are times when two sides simply can’t seem to find common ground. They are at odds and can’t come to a resolution. Mediation entered into our court system several years ago here in Georgia. A mediator is a go-between who steps into a conflict and seeks to help both sides come to an agreement. Mediation is the process that involves a mediator.

As I was reading Job’s response to his friend Bildad, I was reminded of my Mediator before God Himself. Jesus, the Son of God is my Mediator.  Job is crying out because of his suffering and struggle. He is direct with God. He is wounded and hurting. He’s longing for what in Christ I already have. Check this out….

32 “God is not a mortal like me,
so I cannot argue with him or take him to trial.
33 If only there were a mediator between us,
someone who could bring us together.
34 The mediator could make God stop beating me,
and I would no longer live in terror of his punishment.
35 Then I could speak to him without fear,
but I cannot do that in my own strength. (Job 9:32-35 NLT)

I’m thankful that I can be brutally honest with my Mediator.

He hears my heart before I ever speak a word. I can be angry and frustrated but not hate-filled.

My Mediator is always with me and I talk with Him often. He gives me counsel. He gives me direction. He gives me insight. He gives me wisdom.  He gives me perspective. He gives me grace. He gives me mercy. He gives me love.

My Mediator introduced me to grace and forgiveness that I would not know about without Him. He life is what purchased the grace and forgiveness that I’m speaking of.  I can’t imagine life without Jesus. His Presence settles my soul when I’m worried and upset. His Presence clarifies the direction that my life needs to take. His Presence comes with the best possible counsel for me.  In our court systems, mediation isn’t for every case, but it sure saves the courts and the consumer lots of time and money that litigation can bring.

The mediation that Jesus brings to the table comes with salvation for my soul. I’m so humbled and grateful for my Mediator.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
