Lift

hands holdingI used to love lifting weights as it built up the muscles in my body. It was also called a “work out”. As I’ve gotten older, I’m not as much into that. I do know how to lift, but I don’t make time for that anymore. I wish I had a better explanation, but I really don’t. Lifting is a bit like work. King David speaks of some lifting that the Lord does. Check this out…

1 I waited patiently for the Lord;

    he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,

    out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock

    and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth,

    a hymn of praise to our God.

Many will see and fear the Lord

    and put their trust in him. (Psalm 40:1-3 NIV)

I’m grateful for the “lift” that Lord has provided to me…

He lifts me up from my sins and mistakes.

He lifts my head when I’m down.

He lifts my eyes to see His face.

He lifts my spirit when I’m wounded.

He lifts my heart and restores my soul like only He can.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
