Great Attitude

I have seen people with a great attitude and less skill go further and faster forward in life than a person with profound knowledge and greater skill. A great attitude is like oil to the inner workings of an engine – all the parts work better together when the internal lubricant is properly added.

I have had my moments of “bad attitude”, but I’ve learned to check that quickly. I don’t believe much positive comes from a bad attitude.  In fact, I don’t like being around people with a horrible attitude. Sometimes a bad attitude can be a person who is consistently negative, or it can be someone with a hateful streak.

I remember the song I learned in Sunday School called about the spies who went into the land promised them by God. They were to report all the good that they saw. I believe the reports were to be a momentum builder and get the people amped up about what God was about to do. Instead, ten of the spies put fear into the hearts of the people. Check this out….

They have all seen my glorious presence and the miraculous signs I performed both in Egypt and in the wilderness, but again and again they have tested me by refusing to listen to my voice. 23 They will never even see the land I swore to give their ancestors. None of those who have treated me with contempt will ever see it. 24 But my servant Caleb has a different attitude than the others have. He has remained loyal to me, so I will bring him into the land he explored. His descendants will possess their full share of that land. (Numbers 14:22b-24 NLT)

My attitude toward God is in direct proportion of my faith and trust in Him. My faith and trust in Him are directly related to the time spent with Him in His Word and daily walking out my faith in Him.  My attitude toward God is NOT accidental. It is based upon daily choices that I make. I choose to be grateful to Him every morning when I wake up. I choose to trust His Heart even when I can’t trace His Hand.

Today I want to be grateful and have a positive attitude.  I believe that gratitude is a result of putting two words together – grateful and attitude= Gratitude.  I think being grateful each day has helped me with my attitude.  I do trust the Lord. I do believe His Word. I do want to walk with Him each day of my life. I do want my life to reflect His Presence in me!

Pressing On!
