Best Laid Plans

I spend some time each day making plans for that particular day. In fact, I have a calendar program on my phone and iPad that reminds me of where I’m supposed to be when.  In fact, I had an appointment on Tuesday that got moved to today because the person I was meeting with had a conflict. This happens all the time. Just because my plans don’t always go as I planned, I still like having some sort of system that keeps me on tract.  God spoke through Isaiah into the heart of Israel about plans. Check this out…

They have made plans against you, saying,6 “Let’s fight against Judah and tear it

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”

apart. We will divide the land for ourselves and make the son of Tabeel the new king of Judah.”7 But I, the Lord God, say,
” ‘Their plan will not succeed;it will not happen, 8 because Aram is led by the city of Damascus, and Damascus is led by its weak king, Rezin. Within sixty-five years Israel will no longer be a nation. 9 Israel is led by the city of Samaria, and Samaria is led by its weak king, the son of Remaliah. If your faith is not strong, you will not have strength enough to last.’ “ (Isaiah 7:5-9 NCV)

I don’t believe that I shouldn’t plan. I simply believe that my plans are all yielding to the will, purpose and plan of God.  He knows my heart and He knows my plans. My plans should always be run through His Filter!

I will still take the time today to put appointments with others on my schedule and I plan to keep them. However, there are times when the Lord has something totally different in mind and my schedule changes. I must have the courage to trust Him with my schedule and all of my life plans.  He is my Life Shaper and my Life Maker. I want to live my life in the center of His plan. I want to hold on to Him with ever ounce of strength I have. I want His agenda to be my agenda.

 Pressing On!
