Wisdom

This is a word that seems to come with experience and possibly age. I have met some young people who are wise beyond their years. I have also met older people who are immature, foolish and definitely need to grow in wisdom and maturity.

Wisdom is defined as “the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; the quality of being wise.” It can also mean, “the soundness of an action or decision with regard to the application of such experience, knowledge, and good judgment.”

The Lord God is a full of wisdom. He is the definition of the word wisdom. I am grateful that I have access to His wisdom.  David knew where his wisdom came from and he had a grateful heart. Check this out…

 1 Praise the Lord!
    I will thank the Lord with all my heart
       in the meeting of his good people.
 2 The Lord does great things;
       those who enjoy them seek them.
 3 What he does is glorious and splendid,
       and his goodness continues forever.
 4 His miracles are unforgettable.
       The Lord is kind and merciful.
10 Wisdom begins with respect for the Lord;
       those who obey his orders have good understanding.
       He should be praised forever. (Psalm 111:1-4;10 NCV)

I want to be a wise man who loves and honors God with everything I have and everything I do. I want the wisdom that He gives, not man-made wisdom. The wisdom from above is always “spot on”!

17 But the wisdom that comes from God is first of all pure, then peaceful, gentle, and easy to please. This wisdom is always ready to help those who are troubled and to do good for others. It is always fair and honest. (James 3:17 NCV)

 God will give me wisdom every time I ask for it. He is the source of wisdom. He is the Creator and Inventor of wisdom. He has a full understanding of each and every situation. I feel like that I have only a small angle on something and He provides the rest of the view.

 5 But if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He is generous to everyone and will give you wisdom without criticizing you. (James 1:5 NCV)

I want wisdom and I know just where to find it!

Pressing On!
Dwayne
