Wedding Invitation

InvitationWeddings are pretty fun occasions. Some are more fun than others. Sometimes when there’s been a divorce, you can feel the tension between two sides that used to be one. Some weddings are super solemn and others are light-hearted and quite fun. Some weddings the couple is obviously very much “struck” with each other and at other weddings, the couple seems to “going through the motions”.  I believe that the Lord loves weddings. I believe marriage was designed by God to be the most precious and intimate relationship we have. I also believe that God should most certainly be invited to every wedding.

My brother, John the Apostle was writing as fast as he could and with as much accuracy as possible all that he was seeing in his revelation vision. He was seeing things and hearing things, he never heard before. I’m not sure that I could have done any better describing the events taking place in the heavenly realm.  He did notice the wedding part. Check this out….

The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne. And they cried:
“Amen, Hallelujah!”
Then a voice came from the throne, saying:
“Praise our God,

    all you his servants,
you who fear him,

    both great and small!”
Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
“Hallelujah!

For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad

    and give him glory!

For the wedding of the Lamb has come,

and his bride has made herself ready.
Fine linen, bright and clean,

    was given her to wear.”
(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)
Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.” (Revelation 19:4-9 NIV)

I want to wear fine linen today representing my heart that is devoted to the Lord. I believe that everything I do and everything I say reveals more about my heart.  I want the words from my mouth, the things I say, the way I carry myself and the things my heart meditates on to bring honor, glory and praise to my Creator.  He has saved me. He loves me deeply. He invites me to the wedding supper. He has adopted me into His family forever!

Pressing On!
Dwayne
