Undivided

Every now and then I see a plate on the front of a car that has the Georgia Bulldog logo on one side and a Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket logo on the other side and the by-line: “A House Divided”. I like to watch sports and I consider myself a fan, but I’m not more of a fan of football than I am of the Lord. Sometimes it appears that the sports arena is a great place to see people worship – just worshipping the wrong thing. When it comes to honoring God, I don’t want to divide my time with Him – He wants all of my commitment to Him. Now it doesn’t mean I quit being a sports fan and attending ballgames. It does mean that I have too keep my heart in check and make sure my love for sports doesn’t overtake my love and pursuit of God. Check this out…..

I need to learn to depend totally upon the Lord for wisdom and discernment. I need to trust Him for provision and protection. He is Creator God and He knows me like no one else. He never leaves me alone. The problem comes when I try to lead independent of His wisdom and discernment. I also sometimes can act independent of His provision and protection. When I’m in trouble, I run to Him. He can handle whatever trouble I’m facing. He also wants to celebrate and be part of my success as well as my failure. I want an undivided heart that is completely devoted to Him, His will and His way for me.
