The Great Treasure

I love treasure hunting shows and movies. They search and search for clues to the elusive treasure. I’ve lost things before and had to “treasure hunt” – My kid’s cell phone, their keys, etc….  I have actually lost some of my stuff as well. I will start hunting to find it. I do think it would be cool to go on a for real treasure hunt looking in old sunken ships, or behind the scenes at a museum or temple of doom.

Isaiah speaks of other treasure and I think He nails the definition. Check this out….

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”

2 Lord, be kind to us.
We have waited for your help.
Give us strength every morning. Save us when we are in trouble.
3 Your powerful voice makes people run away in fear; your greatness causes the nations to run away.
The Lord is very great, and he lives in a high place.
He fills Jerusalem with fairness and justice.
6 He will be your safety. He is full of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. Respect for the Lord is the greatest treasure. (Isaiah 33:2-3; 5-6 NCV)

Having respect for the Lord leads in the way of obedience and honor. If I respect the Lord, I’m tuned it to what He is speaking into my life. I want to regard Him as Holy and Powerful to save me from myself and in any situation I find myself.  I need His guidance in every area of my life. He is by far the greatest treasure of my life!

 Pressing On!
