Tables

Wooden round tableA table is an important accessory at my home. I think that the conversations that take place there are like none other.

Ezekiel is still with the “measuring man” and they are focused on the Temple structure. The description of the one special piece of furniture that jumped off the page to me was found in the Most Holy Place. Check this out….

In front of the Most Holy Place was something that looked like an altar of wood. It was more than five feet high and three feet wide. Its corners, base and sides were wood. The man said to me, “This is the table that is in the presence of the Lord.” (Ezekiel 41:21b-22 NCV)

I’m sitting a table right now typing this journal/note and I’m wondering if my table is in the presence of the Lord. I love tables where people can gather for lots of reasons.  The most common use of a table is eating. We also have conference tables where lots of work gets done.  I also love to sit at the table of the Lord. Each Lord’s Day, our church gathers around “the table” of the Lord. Jesus was seated at a table when He instituted the Lord’s Supper, which was designed to be a special remembrance.   Some of my fondest memories are from conversations at the table.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
