Sticky Note

These little papers have become quite popular – at least in my world and on my desk. You can purchase just about every shape, color and size. They are not super cheap but they are sticky and serve a purpose to remind me of a name or phone number that I need to follow up with. I’ve actually tried pretty hard to move to electronic notes instead of physical sticky notes – but I must just love them. I guess there is something about a tangible, written reminder. This passage this morning was one such reminder that I need to put on a sticky note where I can see it every day. Check this out….

8 ‘But you, Israel, my servant,

    Jacob, whom I have chosen,

    you descendants of Abraham my friend,

9 I took you from the ends of the earth,

    from its farthest corners I called you.

I said, “You are my servant”;

    I have chosen you and have not rejected you.

10 So do not fear, for I am with you;

    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:8-10 NIV)

 

This passage reminds me of several important truths:

I am NEVER alone

He NEVER forgets

He NEVER leaves

He is STRONG

He HOLDS ON to me

He is my HELPER

He LOVES me

He is WITH me

I need to be reminded of these truths daily. Sometimes the “noise” of my life crowds out these strong but quiet reminders. I may look like I have it together; but without Him I am nothing. With His Presence and Power, I can be a strong man, husband, Dad, friend, leader and influencer for His sake. If I am anything it’s because He is my EVERYTHING!
