See – Hear – Do

I love the t-shirt with the three monkeys that says, “Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil”.  There is much to be said about controlling what I hear, see and say.  I still battle in all three areas. I was reading in Isaiah this morning and the brother has quite a vision of seeing the King of Kings. He is a little freaked out, but clearly hears a Word from God. Check this out….

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”

8 Then I heard the Lord’s voice, saying, “Whom can I send? Who will go for us?”  So I said, “Here I am. Send me!” 9 Then the Lord said, “Go and tell this to the people: ‘You will listen and listen, but you will not understand. You will look and look, but you will not learn.’
10 Make the minds of these people dumb. Shut their ears. Cover their eyes. Otherwise, they might really understand what they see with their eyes and hear with their ears. They might really understand in their minds and come back to me and be healed.” (Isaiah 6:8-10 NCV)

There are lots of noises in our culture calling for my attention. The noises are seeking to keep my attention and even change my behavior. Then there’s the Voice of God calling me too. He is consistent, faithful and persistent.  My response should be: “Here I am….I’ll go. I will do. I will speak. I will be where you call me to go, what You want me to do and say.  I’m grateful that Lord is patient with me as I keep filtering the noise out looking and listening for Him.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
