Restored & Repurposed

3ac8def5228502ac10e2d9f09581659cThere is a great movement around us that involves restoring old furniture. My brother-in-law up in Kentucky takes old wood from torn down houses and barns and makes beautiful pieces of furniture.  ( http://www.farm2furniture.com )The wood is still the same wood with a new purpose. In order to restore a piece of furniture it must be salvaged or saved first. It can then be brought back to like new condition. The Lord is in the business of restoring and repurposing. The process is not without pain and struggle. It is a process that changes the usefulness of the person, place or thing being restored or repurposed.

Jeremiah tells the people of Israel that they will be restored after their discipline of exile. Their cities will once again be vibrant and thriving. The Lord disciplines, restores and repurposes those He loves. Check this out….

3They will be my people, and I will be their God. 39 I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them. 40 I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. 41 I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul. (Jeremiah 32:38-41 NIV)

There are literally millions of restored and re-purposed people. I am one of those too. The Lord took me from my old self and put a new Spirit in me. I have His view and I have His vision going forward. I see life through the lens of His Spirit in me!I once was lost but now I’m found. I was blind but now I see.” The Lord is overflowing with grace and mercy that leads me to repentance which then leads to restoration and repurpose.

I’m so thankful He called me to Him.

I’m so thankful for His Presence in me.

I’m so thankful for restoration of my heart.

I’m so thankful for the repurposed life I have in Him!

Pressing On!

Dwayne
