Remain

That word carries a lot of meaning at so many levels. It can mean to stay steady when others are not; leftover; staying put in a particular place. I think of this word a positive word. It speaks to me about consistency and steadiness.  As I read Psalm 102, my thoughts of the Lord were all over the place and then settled on this one attribute of the Lord. Check this out…

25 In the beginning you made the earth,
and your hands made the skies.
26 They will be destroyed, but you will remain.
They will all wear out like clothes.
And, like clothes, you will change them
       and throw them away.
 27 But you never change,
and your life will never end.
28 Our children will live in your presence,
and their children will remain with you.” (Psalm 102:25-28 NCV)

God is steady, strong and steadfast. He doesn’t move or cease to exist. He remains through all the changes in me. He doesn’t change with the environment of my life. My life would be consistently steadier if I remain attached and anchored to Him.  I thought of a song that stirs my heart to worship Him and the title is “Remain”.  Check this out…

Defender of this heart

Starfield

You loved me from the start
You never change

Through the highs and lows
As seasons come and go
You never fail

Day after day
Your love will remain
Faithful and true
You are good

You are God with us
You’re victorious
You are strong and mighty to save
For Your word stands true
There is none like You
And when all else fades
You remain

When troubles come my way
You guide and You sustain
Lead me, I pray

Forever You will be
The great eternal King
Now and always

Day after day
Your love will remain
Faithful and true
You are good, you are good (Music & Lyrics by Starfield)

I am holding on to the ONE Who Remains! He is everything I’m not and He’s all I’ve got. I know He won’t leave or quit. He is steady, strong and faithful – He remains when all else fails.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
