Praying With Faith

worship in prayerMy journey of life has taught me much about prayer. I have been a weak prayer warrior and I’ve been a strong prayer warrior. I should explain that when I say I’m a weak prayer warrior my faith is weak. My spiritual journey has its ups and downs. It is deeper and stronger some seasons over others. I have been in much pain and hardship and I have lots of joy. I’m more drawn to pray during times of struggle than in times of joy. Right there lays the problem.

The book of James again provides practical council for my spiritual journey. Check this out…

13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (James 5:13-16 NIV)

I want to be a powerful prayer warrior. I want to be that person who goes before the Lord consistently and confidently. I believe more consistent prayer will deepen my faith and also develop a much more intimate relationship with the Lord. I want to talk to Him about EVERYTHING. In fact, I believe He wants to be in on everything I do and everything I say.  I want to be a righteous man who prays with power. When I pray I’m changed and my perspective is changed. The Lord does amazing work in my heart and my life when I pray.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
