Pleasing Aroma

aromaI love smelling sweet stuff. I love the smell of strawberries and lots of other fruit. I also like the smell of my wife’s perfume, especially when she’s wearing it. I also love to smell good breakfast cooking, especially bacon and sausage – oh and country ham!! A good aroma usually puts me in a good way. I don’t know anyone who loves to smell bad odors. Paul talks to the church in Corinth about being a sweet smell to God. Check this out….

15 For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task? 17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God. (2 Corinthians 2:15-17 NIV)

I want my life today to be a sweet smelling aroma for the Lord. I represent the aroma that brings life; gives life; and sustains life. The Lord is the source of that good smell not the cologne that I put on after my shower. His aroma exudes out of my life in the things I say, the way I treat others and even my patience with others. I want to live today in such a way that I “smell good” to others. I want the aroma of Christ all over me!

Pressing On!
Dwayne
