Place Of Refuge

protected homeI often look at my home as a “place of refuge” from the business of life and work. I also love to be in my shop piddling with the music cranked up as a work on a hobby or re-organization of my shop area. A place of refuge can mean all sorts of things to different people. I see it as a place to gather my thoughts, to settle my spirit – just to rest from routine. The Lord is considered a “Place of Refuge” throughout the Word of God and the journey of His people. Check this out…

 26 This is the plan determined for the whole world;
    this is the hand stretched out over all nations.
27 For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him?
    His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?
31 Wail, you gate! Howl, you city!
    Melt away, all you Philistines!
A cloud of smoke comes from the north,
    and there is not a straggler in its ranks.
32 What answer shall be given
    to the envoys of that nation?
‘The Lord has established Zion,
    and in her his afflicted people will find refuge.’ (Isaiah 14:26-27;31-32 NIV)

I need to make my home a place of refuge for my family. It needs to be a safe place both physically and emotionally. I also need to need the Lord’s help to make my home a place of refuge. He has much bigger plans for me and my family than I could imagine or dream.

I want to live and walk in the middle of His place & His plan for me. I find walking with the Lord daily and “place of refuge”. It is out of my journey with Him that I interpret the events and activities of this life. I’m holding on to Him as my “Place of Refuge”.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
