Personal Faith

"Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path"

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”

I have been a follower of Jesus since third grade. I grew up knowing Jesus for as long as I can remember. I remember times in my life where my actions did not agree with what I said I believed. I pushed the envelope with my behavior and my choices. I lived for many years off the faith of my parents. I still remember with great clarity the event where I believed because of the Presence of the Lord in my life. I believed because I had experienced Him.

I love the story of Jesus talking with the Samaritan woman. He exhibited such patience and grace in His conversation with her. Before the conversation was over, she went to town to tell her friends about Him. Check this out….

39 Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. 41 And because of his words many more became believers.
42 They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.” (John 5:39-42 NIV)

I want people who know me to know the Lord. I especially want my kids to grow up and have a deep personal faith in the Lord. I pray often that they will experience His Presence and His Power in their lives personally – that they may believe in Him. I realize that they’ve grown up and lived off my faith for many years. It blesses my heart and life to see them walk personally with the Lord because they know Him and they believe in Him for themselves.

My Faith journey is deeply personal and deeply rooted in my heart. I don’t ever want to quit following the Lord for any reason. I know Him. I’ve seen His Power. I’ve experienced His Grace and Mercy. I could never leave Him – He has never left me. For the rest of my life, I’m….

Pressing On!
Dwayne
