None Like You

My parents introduced me to the Lord as a young boy. Over the years I’ve gotten to know Him more and more. I remember being afraid of Him. I remember thinking He was some “old man” – a grandpa figure. I remember trying to think about what He would look like if I met Him face to face. As I get older and I turn gray, I’ve learned that God is timeless. He does not age. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Check this out….

I’ve always imagined God to have physical attributes like me. I think of Him with a face, hands and feet. I realize that I’m giving physical, human attributes to the Creator of the Universe. I think of Him in terms and attributes that I know from my life experience. It’s hard to wrap my head around someone who operates outside of my realm of thought and experience. Everyone I know has a date that they celebrate as the day of their birth. Everyone I know has a beginning and will one day have an ending on this earth. It’s hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that God has always existed because all I know had a beginning and an ending.

The bottom line is that nothing or no one compares to the Lord. He is the Lord God and forever He is Creator & Sustainer of all I see and know. I’m going to trust Him the rest of my life!
