No Need

Sunset worshipIt’s really hard to buy a gift for the person who has everything. I mean what do you buy someone gets what they need when they need it? When I’m faced with this challenge, sometimes the best gifts are ones that I’ve made with my own hands using my creativity. A gift that is hand-made is often more meaningful than one purchased at a store ready-made.

The Lord loves it when I give gifts to Him, but He really doesn’t need anything. He doesn’t need my money. He doesn’t need my time. He doesn’t “need” anything from me. He wants my heart to be devoted to Him. He wants me to love Him and honor Him. He loves me deeply and wants what is best for me. I do need what He has. Ashaph, one of the Psalmists says it well. Check this out….

23 Anyone who sacrifices thank offerings to me honors me.

He makes it possible for me to show him

that I am the God who saves.” (Psalm 50:23 NIV)

I “need” to trust the Lord.

I “need” to honor the Lord with my words.

I “need” to talk with Him.

I “need” to hear from Him.

I “need” to surrender my heart to Him.

He doesn’t “need” me, but I sure do NEED Him! I know that the Lord created me especially for fellowship with Him. I need Him today and everyday!

Pressing On!
Dwayne
