Mountain Maker
It sometimes blows my mind to think about knowing the One Who made the mountains. The fact that He cares about my life and me is humbling and comforting at the same time. He is simply amazing and indescribable.
Amos is calling the people of Israel out. They have sinned and God has punished them – still they do not return to the Lord. After He reminds them several times he wraps up this chapter. Check this out….
12 “So this is what I will do to you, Israel; because I will do this to you, get ready to meet your God, Israel.” 13 He is the one who makes the mountains and creates the wind and makes his thoughts known to people. He changes the dawn into darkness and walks over the mountains of the earth. His name is the Lord God All-Powerful. (Amos 4:12-13 NCV)I need to be reminded of Who God is and what He has done. Not only does He shape mountains and create the wind, He stills my soul when I’m troubled. He shapes my heart to be like His. He makes His thoughts known to me.
The Presence of God is so real to me at times. I’m learning to live like He’s here even when I don’t “feel” Him. He promised He would never leave me or forsake me and that’s all I need to know.
The Wind Maker and Mountain Shaper wants to walk with me through life. He is the Lord God All-Powerful! There is nothing I will face that He can’t help me handle. I still can’t quite wrap my head my Amazing God – but I sure love Him and trust Him – Period!
