Monitored

Security cameraI like to watch a TV showed called “Person of Interest” and it’s about how people are being monitored by TV camera’s all over the place and how you can’t stop “being monitored or watched”. I remember when my kids were small, we had a small baby monitor in their room to hear them but nowadays parents use video monitors to watch and listen to their small children. When I’m in a big city and I look around at just how many video cameras are around, it is a bit unsettling. I was reminded this morning that the Lord is monitoring me and He doesn’t need video surveillance. Check this out….

3 All you people of the world,
you who live on the earth,
when a banner is raised on the mountains,
    you will see it,
and when a trumpet sounds,
    you will hear it.
4 This is what the Lord says to me:
‘I will remain quiet and will look on from my dwelling-place,
like shimmering heat in the sunshine,
like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.’ (Isaiah 18:3-4 NIV)

The Lord monitors me every day all day. He is watching over me. I’m His kid – His creation. He wants me to look to Him for direction and guidance. He wants me to live for the purpose I was created. He wants to protect me. He wants to lead me. He wants to love me.

He is watching me for my benefit. He is watching over me to know me. He never manipulates me into following Him, but He sees for sure when I disobey and go my own way. He holds me accountable to the standards He has for me. He is always monitoring me because He created me and I’ve decided to surrender to His will for my life. I’m ok with Him monitoring me. In fact, I welcome His watchful eye because with accountability there is also protection.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
