Love Test

exam test pass or fail iconI have never considered myself to be a good “test taker”. I don’t “lock down” or “freeze up”, but I do get a bit nervous. God gives us tests all the time and it’s often in the form of living life every day. He sends people our way and we have the opportunity to love and serve them or ignore them.  God took action to love us and I believe He expects action out of us to love others. Check this out…

Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.
16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 24 The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us. (1 John 3:10b; 16-18; 23-24 NIV)

Love is something that God defines. It is something that He’s very serious about. I think love is what makes His children different than anyone else. God first loved us and after being a recipient of that love, we are compelled to love others. When the Lord saves us, He installs His Holy Spirit in us and that Spirit helps us to love others in word and with action.  When I know God – no matter how little I know of Him – His Love is obvious and impossible to miss. He want’s me to love like that.

Pressing On!
