How Does It End

Retro typewriter text the endI remember a move called, “The Truman Show” back in the late 90’s. It was a fake life of Truman Burbank. His entire life had been spent inside this massive studio with tons of cameras on him. There is cable channel that runs all the time featuring The Truman Show. One of the questions that was central to the plot of the movie was: “How does it end?”

I think people have been asking the same question about life here on earth for many, many years. After reading and studying Revelation as well as the visions of Daniel, I’m still not sure how I would answer that question.  Revelation and Daniel are filled with symbolism inside their visions of how the end comes.  Check this out…

23 “When the end comes near for those kingdoms, a bold and cruel king who tells lies will come. This will happen when many people have turned against God. 24 This king will be very powerful, but his power will not come from himself. He will cause terrible destruction and will be successful in everything he does. He will destroy powerful people and even God’s holy people. 25 This king will succeed by using lies and force. He will think that he is very important. He will destroy many people without warning; he will try to fight even the Prince of princes! But that cruel king will be destroyed, and not by human power. (Daniel 8:23-25 NCV)

I have come to the conclusion that I’m not worried about how or when the world ends. I’m going to do my best to honor the Creator so that when it does come to an end, my eternal life begins in His Presence. I want to cultivate the Presence of God in my life here on earth because He holds the whole future in His hands. I honestly don’t need to worry about anything. I trust Him with the end of this life and the beginning of the next.

How does it end?  – I’m confident that when this world ends, it will be totally in God’s timing and within His will. Until then, I’m continuing to walk with Him!

Pressing On!
