Hearing God’s Voice

Woman talking through a megaphone and a man plugging his earsI often wonder what kind of voice God has.  Does he have a deep baritone voice? I’m assuming He speaks any language or that any of us understand His language. I’m also expecting that I could literally hear Him.  I’ve heard Him speak into my heart many times, but to hear Him audibly would be quite an experience.

When reading the Revelation to John, I sometimes crack up at his descriptive terms. He was trying really hard to write down things that were beyond his ability to describe.  For example, the angel “clothed in clouds and a rainbow for a crown”, to name a few. He did hear a voice from heaven, and I assume it’s the voice of God.  Check this out….

8 Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me once more: “Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.” (Revelation 10:8 NIV)

I really want to hear daily from God. I’m not sure I care about hearing his audible voice. I just want to hear from Him about decisions I’m making. I want His direction for me because He knows what is best for me. He knows what the future holds. He knows everything and I want to hear from Him!

I love John’s obedience. He listens and then acts upon his instructions. That’s a good way for me to be too!

Pressing On!
Dwayne
