God’s Not Dead!

Popcorn and movie tickets with clapper board on whiteThis motion picture by this title opened this past Friday to the public and I had the opportunity to see the movie with my wife, Tina, our two youngest sons, and several people from our church. I must say that the cheesy acting in a “Christian film” does generally not surprise me, because the budget is lacking to pay premium actors. This movie was different. It had a great story line, great actors and cinematography to go with it. It was inspiring and insightful. Oh and I almost forgot the title of the film is a statement that I’ve “hung my hat on” for years. I know for sure that God is most definitely NOT dead!

This morning as I read my next schedule passage of the Word of God, I came across a Psalm that just underscored what I experienced in watching the movie last evening. Check this out….

The Lord reigns forever;

    he has established his throne for judgment.
8 He rules the world in righteousness

    and judges the peoples with equity.
9 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,

    a stronghold in times of trouble.
10 Those who know your name trust in you,

    for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. (Psalm 9:7-10 NIV)

I trust in the Lord with all my heart. I keep finding areas of my heart that have been tucked away for my safekeeping. I need to surrender all of me to Him. He is more than capable of knowing me and showing me the choices to make that honor Him most. I don’t know what today holds, but I know the One Who holds it.  He is a Rock when the foundations of my life are shaken. He protects me from others and myself who want to harm me. His Presence in me has been the biggest game changer ever and I want to walk with Him and trust Him all the rest of the days of my life!

So God is definitely NOT dead – He is surely alive because He’s living inside me as well as many others I know.  I love the song by the same title that the Newsboys performed in the movie. It’s worth a listen here.

I’ve living this statement out the rest of my life: God is NOT Dead – He’s very much alive and living inside me!

Pressing On!
Dwayne
