Forgiveness Cycle

Man holding rock with bible verse John 8:7I am so thankful to be forgiven by God. I know me. I know what I’ve done. I know the things I’ve thought. I know the diseased parts of my heart. I am blown away that the Lord knows all of that and forgives me still.  I love what King David says in Psalm 32. Check this out…

Blessed is the one

    whose transgressions are forgiven,

    whose sins are covered.
2 Blessed is the one

    whose sin the Lord does not count against them

    and in whose spirit is no deceit.  (Psalm 32:1-2 NIV)

I’m thankful for the faithfulness of the Lord to forgive my stupid choices and bad behavior. He forgives completely because my Jesus died for me too.

I get pretty frustrated with myself though when I feel forgiven and then sin again. I know of the Lord’s patience because He exercises it on me. Check out the cycle…

CONFESSION

5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you

    and did not cover up my iniquity.

I said, ‘I will confess

    my transgressions to the Lord.’

And you forgave

    the guilt of my sin. (Psalm 32:5 NIV)

Rest

6 Therefore let all the faithful pray to you

    while you may be found;

surely the rising of the mighty waters

    will not reach them.
7 You are my hiding-place;

    you will protect me from trouble

    and surround me with songs of deliverance. (Psalm 32:6-7 NIV

Worship

10 Many are the woes of the wicked,

    but the Lord’s unfailing love

    surrounds the one who trusts in him.
11 Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous;

    sing, all you who are upright in heart! (Psalm 32:10-11 NIV)

I want to spend most of my life in “Rest” and “Worship”.  I want to settle down my life and need a lot less confession and a lot more of rest & worship!

Pressing On!
Dwayne
