Facedown

God's mercy at the CrossI have learned over the years that the posture of my body in worship should be a genuine reflection of my heart. I can either stand in awe of the Lord or sit down and be still in His Presence. I can kneel before Him or even lie down before Him. I do believe that my worship is not about me as much as it is about Him. The Lord wants to captivate my heart. Ezekiel was seeing and having an amazing experience as the Lord was speaking through Him. Check this out….

1 Then the man brought me to the gate facing east, 2 and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing waters, and the land was radiant with his glory. 3 The vision I saw was like the vision I had seen when he came to destroy the city and like the visions I had seen by the River Kebar, and I fell face down. 4 The glory of the Lord entered the temple through the gate facing east. 5 Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. (Ezekiel 43:1-4 NIV)

When I’m in the Presence of God, it’s totally appropriate to fall facedown. He deserves my extreme reverence, respect and honor. I love this song and the picture it paints.

“Facedown”

by Matt Redman

Welcomed in to the courts of the King

I’ve been ushered in to Your presence

Lord, I stand on Your merciful ground

Yet with every step tread with reverence

And I’ll fall facedown

As Your glory shines around

Yes, I’ll fall facedown

As Your glory shines around

Who is there in the heavens like You?

And upon the earth, who’s Your equal?

You are far above, You’re the highest of heights

We are bowing down to exalt You

So let Your glory shine around

Let Your glory shine around

King of glory, here be found

King of glory

Today I want the posture of my heart to be facedown before Him. I want the posture of my body to be respectful of His Power and His Presence at all times. It’s the proper perspective to have in the Presence of the King!

Pressing On!

Dwayne
