Depth

Scuba divers, coral and fish in the Red Sea.My youngest son is interested in so many different things. He was sharing with me the other evening about how deep the ocean is. He was telling me of this place where the ocean is really deep. I think the part he was speaking of is Challenger Deep and it is approximately 36,200 feet deep. I really can’t imagine that depth because I can barely think past 20 feet deep of water. I’ve always thought it would be cool to scuba dive, but I honestly have a strong fear of deep water. King David writes about the depth of the Lord’s justice. Check this out…

5 Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,

    your faithfulness to the skies.
6 Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,

    your justice like the great deep.

    You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
7 How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!

    People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
9 For with you is the fountain of life;

    in your light we see light.
10 Continue your love to those who know you,

    your righteousness to the upright in heart. (Psalm 36:5-7; 9-10 NIV)

I can’t wrap my head around the descriptive terms of the heights of the heavens or the depths of the seas, let alone begin to grasp the amazing love of God. My human mind can’t compute a love that big and that deep. God’s love is bigger than anything I could use to try to describe it. He is so very faithful to me even when I’m unfaithful to Him. I’ve never been to a place where the Love God isn’t there too. He will never leave me or forsake me. A relentless love like that is hard for me to understand but easy to accept. I’m blessed to be loved by God. From the depths of the oceans to the heights of the heavens, His love has me covered!

Pressing On!
