Deeper Love
I remember as a kid “falling in love”. I remember the intensity of the emotions from deep in my heart. I look back on those experiences now with quite a different perspective. What I thought was love was really straight up physical attraction. I really didn’t know much about that kind of love. At that time of my life, I’m not sure I was capable of the deep love that I’ve since learned about. The love I felt back then sometimes doesn’t even feel like love at all based on what I now know.
King Solomon gets very intimate in his writing between himself and his beloved. I’m reminded of the depth of love between a man and a woman. I’m also reminded of how our culture has “cheapened” this deep love. We still make love about the physical/sexual experience and it’s so much more than that. God is the Designer/Maker of love and He built it with deep meaning and deep value, not something quick and temporary. Check this out…

I’m still growing and learning to love deeper than ever before in my life. I’m having a hard time describing the way my love has grown deeper and wider. The Lord has captured my heart and I believe that I’m living out the reason I was made – to love and honor the Lord. The more I understand the heart of God, the better I am at loving and caring for others. The more I know about the Lord, the better husband I can be to Tina and the better Dad I can be to my kids.
