Commitment

That word mean different things to different people. I have a commitment to my wife as her husband. I have a commitment to my children as their Dad. I have a commitment to those whom I work with to sell their real estate or buy real estate.  I make commitments each day in various circumstances. There cannot be a commitment stronger than my commitment to the Lord. He will not take second place.

"Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path"

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”

9 Then those who have escaped will remember me, as they live among the nations where they have been taken as captives. They will remember how I was hurt because they were unfaithful to me and turned away from me and desired to worship their idols. They will hate themselves because of the evil things they did that I hate. 10 Then they will know that I am the Lord. I did not bring this terrible thing on them for no reason. (Ezekiel 6:9-10 NCV)

The Lord will not “share the stage” with anyone or anything. He is first place in my life or not. If I put anything or anyone before Him, it won’t work. He is not trying to destroy my other commitments – He enhances them! I’m learning every day to trust Him more completely. He is Lord of All. I don’t want to pursue anything at the expense of my faith in God. I want my commitment to Him to be the supreme commitment of my life!

Pressing On!
Dwayne
