Called Out

Woman talking through a megaphone and a man plugging his earsI have been called out before for doing something that is offensive to someone else. Sometimes I don’t realize that I’m hurting someone else – other times I might just not care. There are situations when I need to call someone out that I might decide to wait a minute and there are other situations that need to be called out immediately. The Lord will call me out at a moments notice. I began reading the prophet Isaiah and he is speaking on behalf of the Lord as God calls out His people. Check this out….

15 When you spread out your hands in prayer,
    I hide my eyes from you;
even when you offer many prayers,
    I am not listening.
Your hands are full of blood!
16 Wash and make yourselves clean.
    Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
    stop doing wrong.
17 Learn to do right; seek justice.
    Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
    plead the case of the widow.
18 ‘Come now, let us settle the matter,’
    says the Lord.
‘Though your sins are like scarlet,
    they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
    they shall be like wool. (Isaiah 1:15-18 NIV)

The Lord calls me out when I choose to go my own way.

The Lord calls me out when I disobey Him.

The Lord calls me out when I hurt others.

The Lord calls me out when I don’t do what He’s calling me to do.

As I walk with the Lord through His Word and commit my life to Him, He speaks into my life and He directs my path. He will speak into my thoughts before they become activities. He will direct my activities so that my behavior honors Him.

I have been called out on more than one occasion. While I don’t relish that discipline, I realize that I need to be called out in order to walk in His Way and honor Him with all of my life.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
