I love the picture of having someone to help that comes along side me to help me. I believe that in marriage, spouses are to help one another along the journey of life. I like the picture about coming along side the Lord to do what it is He’s called me to do. King David speaks to this in Psalm 110. Check this out…1 The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit by me at my right side until I put your enemies under your control.” 2 The Lord will enlarge your kingdom beyond Jerusalem, and you will rule over your enemies. 3 Your people will join you on your day of battle. You have been dressed in holiness from birth; you have the freshness of a child. 4 The Lord has made a promise and will not change his mind. He said, “You are a priest forever, a priest like Melchizedek.” (Psalm 110:1-4 NCV)
Of all the people I want to come along side to help me, I want the Lord. He is the most powerful of allies. He has a plan. He has the power to implement the plan. He can make more of my life than I could ever dream. I believe it’s my role to come along side Him and go with His plan. I sometimes try to go my own way and invite Him in to my plans. That is exactly opposite as to how it should work. He will lead if I let Him. I must trust Him with today, tomorrow and the rest of my life here on earth.
When I’m in His will and He and I are side by side, there’s not better place on earth to be!Pressing On! Dwayne
