Brand New

Word in Stars Announcing Brand New Product or ImprovementI really like new stuff. There is something about the packaging that is really cool. In a new car, it’s the smell of new. Sometimes “new” is overpriced and certainly over-valued. For example, I’ve heard for years that once you drive that new car off the lot, it decreases in value by $1500 – $2000. Clark Howard is a big proponent of a used car versus new for that reason. Nevertheless, I like new stuff. A new place is somewhere I’ve never been before. A new chapter is building on the previous chapter. Over the years, I’ve felt blessed how the Lord has made me new many times over. He forgives my past and erases it. He is the only One who can do that. Check this out….

15 I am the Lord, your Holy One,
    Israel’s Creator, your King.’
16 This is what the Lord says –
he who made a way through the sea,
a path through the mighty waters,
17 who drew out the chariots and horses,
    the army and reinforcements together,
and they lay there, never to rise again,
extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:
18 ‘Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
    and streams in the wasteland.
20The wild animals honor me,
    the jackals and the owls,
because I provide water in the wilderness
    and streams in the wasteland,
to give drink to my people, my chosen,
21     the people I formed for myself
that they may proclaim my praise. (Isaiah 43:15-21 NIV)

I am so thankful for the Creator of New Things. He erases my past sin. He removes it forever. He provides water in the wasteland. He provides a way through and out of the wasteland. I’m so thankful for the Presence of God no matter where my path leads. He is with me in the darkest valley of pain and struggle and He’s with me on the most exciting and celebrated day. He never ever leaves. I love this song by Needtobreathe called Wasteland. God is doing a brand new thing by bringing water and direction to the “Wasteland” of my life.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
