Accuracy Matters

Measuring cupI’m a local REALTOR and I was very excited when REALTOR.com came out with a new ad campaign that says, “Accuracy Matters”. There is possibly more “mis-information” as there is accurate information online. This is very true when it comes to the real estate market. Zillow’s “zestimate” has been known to be all over the place. I think the obvious needs to be said. If the measuring tool is flawed, the information it measures will be flawed as well.

The Lord was using Ezekiel to “call out” some of the princes who evidently has some “creative measuring tools”. Check this out…

9 ‘“This is what the Sovereign Lord says: you have gone far enough, princes of Israel! Give up your violence and oppression and do what is just and right. Stop dispossessing my people, declares the Sovereign Lord. 10 You are to use accurate scales, an accurate ephah and an accurate bath. 11 The ephah and the bath are to be the same size, the bath containing a tenth of a homer and the ephah a tenth of a homer; the homer is to be the standard measure for both. 12 The shekel is to consist of twenty gerahs. Twenty shekels plus twenty-five shekels plus fifteen shekels equal one mina. (Ezekiel 45;9-12 NIV)

I do believe that the Lord rewards the honest.

I do believe that He is a champion of truth.

He calls His people to be honest and trustworthy.

The truth can hurt, but it’s still the truth.

The truth is the standard by which I live.

I want my life based on truth.

If a person lies to me early on in my relationship with them – it’s hard for trust to be restored because everything from that time on has been “built” on a lie or mis-truth.

I want honesty and integrity to “leak from my pores of my skin”. I want to always be consistent in my walk with the Lord. I want to honor the Lord with what I say and how I live every day. The measuring tool I will use is the Word of God. The Word gives direction, wise counsel and is loaded with Accuracy!

Pressing On!

Dwayne
