A Terrible Day

I’ve had bad days before after receiving some bad news.  I’ve had really bad days when the bad news comes in waves.  Isaiah speaks of “a terrible day” that is coming.  A lot will change on that day.  Check this out….

 11 Proud people will be made humble,

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”

       and they will bow low with shame.
    At that time only the Lord will still be praised.
 12 The Lord All-Powerful has a certain day planned
       when he will punish the proud and those who brag,
       and they will no longer be important.
17 At that time proud people will be made humble,
       and they will bow low with shame.
    At that time only the Lord will be praised,
 18 but all the idols will be gone.
22 You should stop trusting in people to save you,
       because people are only human;
    they aren’t able to help you. (Isaiah 2:11-12; 17-18;22 NCV)

This day speaks to me as maybe a season of “days” that will break the proud spirit of many. It looks like Humble Pie will be served for all three meals on that day. When I put my trust in wealth, I’m humbled. When I put my trust in power, I will be humbled. When I put my trust in fame, I will be humbled.  I need to make it my life’s pursuit to run after God’s heart and God’s will for my life. I will be humble before Him. I will hang onto Him through every “terrible day” and every good day. He is my anchor, my ROCK and He is charge of me.  It takes a lot of faith to trust Him Who I can’t see with the things I can see. He is Lord of it all. I must trust Him with all that I have and all that I know.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
