A New Day!

Country road at sunriseThis morning is a new day. This day has not been written down in the history books of my life as of yet. My day is just getting started. I love mornings when I can reflect for a moment about yesterday and really prepare for today.  This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad today!” (Psalm 118:24 NCV)

The Lord is the Maker of all new days. I like to think of each new day as a new painting on the canvas of my life. The Lord is the Painter/Artist/Creator!  Zephaniah speaks to the people of Judah and specifically the city of Jerusalem about a new day coming. Check this out….

9 “Then I will give the people of all nations pure speech

    so that all of them will speak the name of the Lord

and worship me together.
10 People will come from where the Nile River begins;

    my scattered people will come with gifts for me.
12 But I will leave in the city

    the humble and those who are not proud,

    and they will trust in the Lord.
13 Those who are left alive in Israel won’t do wrong or tell lies;

    they won’t trick people with their words.

They will eat and lie down

    with no one to make them afraid.”
17 The Lord your God is with you;

    the mighty One will save you.
He will rejoice over you.

    You will rest in his love;

    he will sing and be joyful about you. (Zephaniah 3:9-10; 12-13; 17 NCV)

When the Lord promises a new day, I can be sure he will build it from the ground up. He will be present with me in the challenges along the way. He can take the things that stress me and handle them for me. He can also give me the proper perspective on the things that stress me.

Walking with the Lord today and every day is the KEY to finding balance in my life. He will direct my path if I hand over the GPS and my calendar. The journey with Him has my sights and eternal destination – not just the end of this one-day.  I want to rest in His love and let Him be joyful over me today.  This is a new day and with Him in charge, it will be a Good, Good day!

Pressing On!
Dwayne
